The Excelsior Hilton Palermo is located in Viale della Libertà, one of the city centre's main streets, well-known for its famous boutiques. The hotel is sorrounded by a green area comprehending Giardino Inglese, Villa Garibaldi and Villa Trabia.
Built in 1891 for National Exhibition of Palermo and formerly called Hotel de la Paix, became Excelsior after a renovation performed in 1925 by Ernesto Basile, the master of art nouveau architecture.
Today the Excelsior Hilton, completely renovated, is considered one of the most prestigious and historical hotels in Sicily.
